About SNAI

The Student Nurses Association of India (SNAI), established in 1929 under the aegis of the Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI), is dedicated to fostering professionalism, ethical practice, and unity among nursing students. Representing aspiring nurses from across the country, including various states, union territories, and Defense establishments, SNAI serves as a dynamic platform for empowering future nursing professionals and shaping the healthcare landscape of India.

Founded by Miss L. Rina Jeans at the TNAI Annual Conference in Madras, the Student Nurses Association of India (SNAI) has grown into a nationwide network of 1,354 units with nearly 3,00,000 members. Since its first conference in Delhi (1932) and the landmark Biennial Conference in Nagpur (1961), SNAI has remained at the forefront of nursing excellence, fostering collaboration and professional growth across India.
